Welcome to AutoCare ("we," "our," or "us"). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how your data is collected, used, and stored when you use the AutoCare mobile application (the "App").

Information We Collect

Because AutoCare is designed with a privacy-first, offline-centric architecture, we collect very limited information:

  • Local Application Data: The vehicles, logs, tasks, and configurations you enter are stored securely and locally on your device's internal storage (using a local Room database). We do not silently collect, sync, or transmit your device's local garage data to our own external servers.
  • AI Service Data (Premium): If you utilize the premium Gemini AI generation features (e.g., customized auto-assistance configuration), the relevant vehicle variables (such as Make, Model, Year, etc.) are securely transmitted to the Google Gemini API solely for the purpose of returning the generated text.
  • Subscription & Billing Data: If you purchase "AutoCare Fleet Premium", your transaction is securely processed and managed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not collect, intercept, or store your credit card information, name, or billing address. We only receive an anonymous purchase token to verify that the subscription is active.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide functionality: Your local data is used to render the application interface, track your fleet, and provide offline tooling.
  • To process premium text generation: Vehicle context is passed to the Gemini API to construct your requested recommendations.
  • To manage access: Subscription tokens are used to unlock premium UI modules and check your active premium status.

Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties. The App relies on the following third-party services which act as data processors:

  • Google Play Services & Billing: Used to process subscription payments and manage purchases.
  • Google Gemini API: Used strictly for generative AI features when explicitly initiated by the user.

(Note: Data sent to the Gemini API via standard Cloud/API integrations is not used by Google to train their foundational models, keeping your specific vehicle data private).

Security

We implement standard Android security measures, including offline-first architecture, to maintain the safety of your personal information. However, please remember that no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is 100% secure.

Your Rights

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you maintain full control over it. You can delete all your personal data at any time by simply uninstalling the application or clearing the App's data in your Android system settings.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
